Overheard at Chica’s Café New Podcast

Overheard at Chica's CaféOverheard at Chica’s Café, Where Friends Meet is an entertainment podcast. New episode today. After producing two other podcasts, Poetic Resurrection, which is An introspective look at life and our Perceptions and Beliefs. It’s a self-help poetry site and Chica and the Man, As Unscripted as it Gets, is about two podcasters, Alex and Sonia who talk about anything that comes to mind on the day of the recording.

One of the episodes of Chica and the Man was called Overheard at Chica’s Café and I thought what a fun name for a podcast. It’s not gossip, just hearing two friends talk. This one is light and interesting, and the goal is to have it bring a smile to your face. Tune in.

Peace.

Chica and the Wo-Man – Evelyn Eccard

Chica & the WoMan Evelyn EccardAlex is out this month and we have guest co-host Evelyn Eccard. If you’ve listened to Poetic Resurrection, she has been a guest there. She’s my sister, so we had a great time bantering, laughing, and reminiscing about growing up in Chicago. Anyone from Chicago could relate to the antics we experienced. It was Father’s Day when we recorded this episode, so Belated Happy Father’s Day.

Some of the topics/antics we cover are: In our youth – Evelyn in a marching band, Jose/Papo’s sleeping cot (rollaway bed), playing three-outs (like baseball), and enjoying an opened water hydrate (pump) on a hot summer day. Ice skating at Commercial Park.

Teenage years: Navy Pier, Chicago beaches, drinking age, and dancing. Catholic school uniforms, fashion design, and working at Woolworths on Michigan Avenue.

Miscellaneous Chicago stories: Punk days, roller skating and rollerblading College and careers, and pivoting careers.

The bottom line is to start living. Don’t wait to start your dreams and careers.

Much success.

Overheard at Chica’s Café

Overhead at Chica's CafeOverheard at Chica’s Café is this month’s episode. Listening to this episode as I edited, it felt like I was overhearing two friends talk about what has happened in the past month. This month and any other months that sound like you’re overhearing us talk will be at the non-existing Chica’s café. Where you have permission to overhear our conversation. We actually hope you listen in all the time.

This month Alex speaks about grieving a collaboration with a producer who recently passed away.

I address acting and its pitfalls. Alex and I address some instances of writing and how you should hon your skills before going to the big city like Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.

People’s Perceptions

Chica & the Man Perceptions Ep 7In this month’s “Perceptions” episode, we talk, talk and talk. We cover so many subjects that I thought I’d list them.

  1. We spoke about my mom. A reflection on last month’s episode.
  2. The state of our careers.
  3. Pandemic weight gain and how difficult it is to lose it.
  4. We talked about Alex’s interview with Dr. Gilmer, author of The Other Dr. Gilmer, on the Mysterious Goings On Podcast.

The Other Dr. Gilmer: The https://amzn.to/3vww5Wc

Listen to: Meet the other Mr. Gilmer: https://mgopod.com/f/meet-the-other-dr-gilmer

  1. Being a guest on his show and the episode is currently up. https://mgopod.com/f/poetic-inspiration-with-sonia-iris-lozada
  2. Aging and how you can still do the things you love.
  3. Jane Fonda and Rita Moreno and their beauty.
  4. Visiting Los Angeles and eating at In N Out Burger and Pinks.
  5. And the main reason we started this episode was to discuss how we are misconceived because of others’ perceptions and beliefs.

SUCCESSES

Chica & the Man - SuccessesHere we are at the end of March. Another month has gone by and in this episode, we thought we discuss our “Successes”. We laugh about the good, the bad and the ugly about success. We speak about how simple experiences lead to a doorway which leads us in the right direction. How gratitude has played a major role in being successful. We talk about books we’re reading or listening to. I’m listening to The Untethered Soul. I called it the untethered mind in the recording. Alex is reading Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before. We are both enjoying our books and next month we want to touch upon how others’ can perceive you. Until next month—blessings.
